Intro to Ammonium propionate:


Ammonium propionate can be Used as an antiseptic and antifungal agent. It produces free propionic acid under acidic conditions and has antibacterial properties. It has a special effect on preventing the production of aflatoxin, but it is almost ineffective on yeast. Good effect on various molds and gram-negative bacilli. The lower the pH, the better the anti-corrosion effect.

Colorless column-shaped crystal. Molecular weight91.109,Melting point:45°C,Relative density:1.108. It is cold water soluble as well as alcohol and acetone. With strong hygroscopicity,Deliquesce in moisture. It can be used as anticorrosive, fungicide . Under acid condition, propionate ammoniumit has antifungal function. Under low PH value, the effect is better.It has low corrosive, and low volatility, stored under 35°C, in cool, sealed place and avoid of sunlight and water.

Use of Ammonium propionate


[1] Used as an antiseptic and antifungal agent. It produces free propionic acid under acidic conditions, which has antibacterial effect. The lower the pH, the better the anti-corrosion effect.
